How to prepare for the GAMSAT
The first thing to remember is GAMSAT is equally a test of English Language skills and science. Many students get wholly focused on the science component and neglect the S1 and S2 of the GAMSAT.
For Section 1 try to become familiar with the various types of materials ACER make use of. This might include poetry (often written by doctors), Cartoons (Check out ethe Cartoon bank), Extracts from novels and extracts from autobiographical pieces (try Henry Marsh, Do No Harm as a start).
For Section 2 make sure you practice essays which are both more argumentative (Essay A) as well as those which reflect more on your personal experience (Essay B).
For Section 3 try to focus more on reasoning than just learning scientific content. Look at unusual research papers and journal pieces and see if you can deconstruct what they are saying. This includes looking at unusual graphical forms wherever possible.
